I have more than 10 years’ experience in education in Europe and the US, including 4 years in a Senior Level Position in Dubai as Academic Director in Dubai and 2 years as a Group Director of Education in Kabul. I have significant experience, training, and certifications both in education and data analysis. I have strong leadership qualities, impeccable work ethic, determination and dedication. As a self-motivated team player, I work towards upscaling the performance on an organizational level by bring up its individuals. I have spent a significant time during my career dedicated to educational research, specifically through the use of large data bases and machine learning models. Dr. Majdah Abdulhadi Shugdar has been the general supervisor of the General Directorate of Training at the Education and Training Evaluation Commission since January 2020.
In 1989, she gained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) and a master’s degree in the same field of study, also from KAU, in 1995.
Fifteen years later, she obtained a post-graduate diploma in research management from the University of Bradford, in the UK and in 2014, a Ph.D. in business administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, in Wales.
Shugdar worked as a laboratory quality coordinator at the clinical laboratory and blood bank of Jeddah’s King Fahd General Hospital (KFGH) from 1997 to 2001. She also worked at KFGH as director of the total quality management (TQM) department from 2008 to 2015.
In 2004, she became the director of TQM at the Jeddah-based International Medical Center (IMC), where she successfully built a database for the automatic generation of monthly reports. She also developed IMC’s TQM and patient safety plan in coordination with US-based Cleveland Clinic.
Two years later, she moved to the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) where she was appointed as the director of the TQM department.
From 2008 to 2015, Shugdar worked as the director of the health care accreditation department at the CBAHI and between 2015 and January 2020 was a general director assistant for health care accreditation affairs with the board.
Shugdar has represented Saudi Arabia as a speaker and chairperson at a number of international events.
I am the current Prep School Director of Digital Learning at Brighton College Abu Dhabi. I am in my fifth-year teaching in Abu Dhabi and have previously taught in Doha, Qatar. I come from a small town in the northwest of Ireland, Strabane, and completed my Bed with Irish Medium Education studies at St Mary’s University College, Belfast.
Philip Callil is the Director of IT and Digital Learning at Yarra Valley Grammar in Melbourne Australia. He is a strong advocate for evolving the curriculum through innovation and the integration of digital learning. He has extensive experience in the design of collaborative learning spaces and is an expert in learning management systems and how they can improve learning.
He was the president of the Victorian IT Teachers Association, the largest ICT in education group in Australia from 2010 to 2013. An Apple Distinguished Educator, Phil visited South Korea as a guest of Samsung and has presented at conferences in Singapore, USA, China and New Zealand. In 2014, he was the Subject Specialist for the Australian Curriculum Review of the Technologies Learning Area.

As the head of technology for the secondary school, Almas is responsible for realigning the curriculum and holistically developing RWA’s digital natives. To develop critical thinking skills in young minds, she has integrated coding across the curriculum for grades 6-12. She plays an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the school’s technology initiatives through contributing professionally to a variety of initiatives and events. Aiming to make her lessons environmentally friendly, she piloted paperless classrooms in the technology department, which was then implemented by various other departments at RWA. Almas also oversees a student-led Intellectual Property Right Awareness campaign with the support of Dubai Customs Authority.

Ana Bravo’s background is in Media and Information Literacy. She has worked in media-literacy and education projects for UNESCO, in higher ed and K12 education since 2008. She has been leading Misk Schools’ pioneering journey integrating cutting edge digital technology in the classroom following Media and Information Literacy criteria since the Schools’ opening in 2016.
Ana obtained a Master’s Degree in Communication and Education and a Master’s Degree in Research in Media, Digital and Information Literacy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. She is currently completing her dissertation for a Ph.D. in the field of Media Literacy, highlighting the importance of critical thinking, creativity, and student agency in documenting their learning.
Catherine O’Farrell is an Inclusion and Early Years Expert with more than 15 years of experience in this field. She has led a group of 11 schools with proven success across all areas of Inclusion as well as leading schools from Head of Early Years to Principal demonstrating impact through improved inspection reviews year on year. She has been practicing and leading schools in the UAE for 10 years with in-depth knowledge of regulations and the educational landscape. Catherine is a Director on the Dubai Inclusion Network, a community of more than 2,000 professionals driving inclusive practice across the emirates and working closely with KHDA and SPEA. Passionate about improving outcomes for students of determination she is regularly published in educational magazines and a well-known conference speaker.
Dr Zeenath Reza Khan, is an Assistant Professor of Cyber Ethics and Head of the Technology and Integrity in Academia and Beyond Research & Learning Forum at Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, University of Wollongong in Dubai. She has been teaching in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at the university since 2001.
Fellow of Wollongong Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence (WATTLE), Dr Khan is a national and international award winning academic with more than 60 publications to her name. Considered a Tier one speaker, Dr Khan’s research interests are in academic integrity, ethics in IT, teaching and learning, and STEM for girls. She has won the Vice Chancellor’s OCTAL award from UOW in 2016, Turnitin Global Innovation Award 2015, Teaching Excellence Award from UOWD in 2014, among others. Meera is a BoardCertified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, USA, one of the first to be registered in the Emirate of Dubai. She has more than 28 years’ experience in the education field in UAE and India. She is an integral member of ABA-India.
Since her childhood, people who are differently abled have fascinated Meera. She has often wondered what makes them apart and what makes them tick? Throughout her professional/personal life, Meera has considered special needs people as those with a special gift, who need a little bit of help to get main streamed into normal way of life as best as possible. This is what has made Meera change the lives of over 2000 children, parents, special needs care givers, therapists and consultants over the past 28-30 years 15 of these years have been in the UAE.
Currently, Meera is Founder and Program Director at Behaviour Enrichment, Dubai, where she and her team of BCBAs, BCaBAs and RBTs provide quality ABA training services at their center’s in Al Barsha, Karama and Sharjah in the UAE. They cater to the needs of over 200 children on a regular basis.
Alia is a current PhD candidate in University of Glasgow, graduated from University of Kent with a masters degree (MA) in Autism Studies. Prior to this Alia graduated from Middlesex University with bachelors in Psychology. She brings with her 12 years of experience in the field of autism and early childhood disorders extensive expertise in assessments, intervention, ABA therapy, family support and training. She is currently appointed as head of inclusion department at Dubai Modern Education School and is responsible for the inclusion of children with special needs into the mainstream school. She brings with her experience expertise in curriculum modifications/adaptation, Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and environmental adaptations for students of determination.
Following 20 year of teaching internationally, of which the previous 11 years were in IB schools in Dubai, Chris is currently Head of Secondary at the International School of Western Australia. With a wealth of experience and knowledge in school senior management, Chris is passionate about driving School improvement and developing innovative teaching pedagogy.

I have worked with senior leaders to develop their curriculums, reporting systems, inclusion provision, assessment, recruitment and staff training. As a qualified assessor, practitioner and parent to sons who have specific learning differences; I have accrued a depth and breadth of experience in best practice to support pupils who have learning differences. I believe in equal opportunity, diversity and challenge for all pupils, irrespective of their socio-economic positions. I am particularly interested (and invested) in dual-exceptional pupils and the recognition of skills and talents that are not curriculum bound. Harnessing technology and creating tech-savvy learners is a primary aim for all educational practitioners across the world. Mrs. Sahar Al Marzouki has been the Owner and Director of Al Faris International School since 2004. He has 2 PhDs, one from Atlantic International University, Hawaii, USA in 2004-2007 in GIS and another from Singhania University Rajasthan, India in 2011-2015 in ERP. I am Lena Alboali, from Saudi Arabia, in 12th grade at the American International School of Dubai. Up until this day, I do not have an exact goal in life, but I would like to pursue a career where I serve people with needs and determination. I see lots of unfairness and aggressiveness in this world like wars and violations of rights, so I work with all my energy daily to do something productive even if it had a little impact like raising awareness about autism and give money to charities. I like to expand my knowledge about political systems and the poorest places in the world. I explore how it’s difficult for many children to have a proper education, so I volunteer to teach refugee children. By these actions, I grow a feeling of tolerance and leniency toward people, which will suit me well for my future.

Robotics club helped my understand the importance of technology in society; it serves an assortment of needs and means various things to various individuals. In this day and age technology can be found at each corner. From the nearby mall to your home, technology makes the world function all the more effectively. While some are hesitant to grasp new technology progressions, the vast majority of us have some type of technology in our home. Overwhelmed and eager to learn and grasp the concept of technology and innovation because it is inevitable in our everyday lives made it a goal I want to achieve.
